[UFO Chicago] screen resolution and Windows share drives for X/ubuntu

Not sure about the GUI stuff but to mount a shared drive you should be able to use mount.cifs.  I use this frequently at work (on openSUSE though) but I believe that it should be part of the standard kernel already.  You'll probably have to supply a username and password.
