What is relevant about its being in PERL is that
Brian was looking for a solution that "doesn't
include perl." But thanks to Josef for calling
attention to this package; I hadn't seen it before
and it looks pretty cool.
It's interesting however that maturity and
stability in software is now something to be
(speculatively) criticized.
Based on the project news page, it seems to be in
relatively active development.
