Many of us (me included) have lamented the lack of good computer conferences in Chicago (especially since the demise of Comdex). Fret no more - there are some good ones coming up in the next few months:

This one is $100

University of Illinois at Chicago

This one is free and on a Sunday (for us working stiffs who can't use conferences as a paid vacation)

This one is also about $100
Yet Another Perl Conference (YAPC)

There are also a few others in the Midwest throughout the year:

This one is $45 or less and combines Linux with Sci-Fi. It is held in a Detroit suburb every April.

This one is started with about 100 people on the Ohio State campus and has grown to over 700 people in it's third year. It is a free Linux conference held on a Saturday in late September / early October in Columbus Ohio.

These are just a few that I know of. If there are any more interesting computer conferences in the Midwest, feel free to post them.
