OS X is to Debian as "unix kernel" is to Linux. Sounds good so far. Let's
switch now.

Well, last I checked, Debian was not an open-source kernel project.
OoOh OoO OoOooh!!!! Yes, it's a distribution, a bundle of supporting
software and a kernel and all the good stuff to get it to boot on a machine to the
point where it can support applications.
Skipping your first statement which makes no sense at all, you hate mach.
Please share for the benefit of the group some other types of kernel
architechtures you do like more than mach, and the technical merits they
offer over mach, or just some dirt on mach.
