[UFO Chicago] Mainframes vs. the rest of the computing industry: Round 1

So, irked over the lack of good definitions and differences
for "mainframes" and "large multiple-processor" (not
"multiprocessor" or "SMP) in the marathon after-food
session last night, I did some (quick!) hunting.

The only real differences that I can find (quickly) are
basically bus speeds and size. <shrug>  I'll keep hunting
around though.
