	As a matter of fact, I run "stable" and selectively rebuild
source packages from "unstable" on my machine.  The apt-get tool makes
this all very straightforward, and "apt-get dist-upgrade" will uprgade
all packages to the very latest.

	Well, I'm sure that pedro may be better able to do this than
I, but I'd suggest that you download the five boot floppies for potato
and do your installation over the network.
