I agree. On a sidenote, the FBI has been a pain in the ass from time to
time, however, this has been true at least since the Nixon administration
and people just deal with. The DMCA and Sklyarov's arrest are new and the
majority are completely unaware of it. I consider it tantamount to our
success as a politcal front to foster non-acceptance of the DMCA, in
contrast to the mass acceptance of the FBI and its occassional antics.

In fact, I think Bush is just dumb enough that we could get his support
for repealing this law if we can dupe him into thinking that's it part of
the "trash that needs to be collected" from the Clinton administration.

Unfortunately, the politics of the situation cannot be ignored. This is a
political issue and our voice will not be heard if we resign ourselves to
a "technical" discussion of the facts.
