I think that I found this patch by searching Google Groups for the
phrase "Compile error in execute_cmd.c with --enable-minimal-config".
As far as how to do the patch there is some reference in the
Kernel-HOWTO about using the "patch" command that I followed.  Sorry I
can't be more helpful.  Actually I find it much easier to just use
bash-2.05a.

Looks like your kernel is trying to load a module in order to run the
bash shell executable.  I would suggest double-checking that support for
ELF binaries is built-in to the kernel that you're using.  You can also
try downloading the kernel from
http://my.core.com/~dhorton/linux/pocket/ just to get by.
