If vmware is installed in a base install of a debian distro, I would. I have tried searching for vmware in the filesystem and the info/man pages, only to find nothing, so I guess I don't. How would I go about finding out if I do or not? I just stumbled upon that problem while going through your guide and kept trying things until I found a work around. Dave, you may want to include it in your guide as an "editor's note".

Do you guys think this is some sort of error that only occurs with
vmware? (Dave, are you using vmware?) Or is it something else unrelated?
