UniForum Chicago is proud to announce the topic for the February 24,
2009 general meeting: "Building DSLs with Groovy: A Real-World Case
Study" by Sten Anderson. Our meetings are free and open to the public
and begin promptly at 7pm at the IIT Rice Campus in Wheaton, IL.

Hope to see you there!

ABSTRACT
**************
DSLs (Domain Specific Languages) are gaining traction as a way to
solve specific kinds of business problems. The dynamic nature of
Groovy makes writing DSLs easier as compared to a more static language
like Java. This presentation will focus primarily on a Real World Case
Study in which a Groovy DSL was embedded in a Java SE application. It
will provide some background about DSLs, including what a DSL is and
why you might want to use one. It will also look at some of Groovy's
built-in Builder DSLs as well as some of the language features of
Groovy that take much of the pain out of writing DSLs.
