In case anyone from UFO would like to attend... it's not too far from our
usual meeting place.

Hey there, Geeks, NPO-technology staff, and Free Software Enthusiasts...

Thin Client in a Nutshell: what to do with all these old crappy Pentium
1 computers that are too slow to run any modern operating system
reliably, whether Windows or Linux? Turn them into "thin clients" --
fully-functional workstations that "run" from a shared central server.

The May NPOTechs meeting will take place Thursday, May 18th, at 6:30 pm.
Note the location switch: we'll be meeting at the FREE GEEK Chicago
community technology center, 3411 W. Diversey. Follow instructions on
the glass double doors for entrance!

(Milwaukee/Kimaball/Diversey intersection and buses, Blue Line to Logan
Square, bike parking inside, on-street parking available)

We will be planning an upcoming Thin Client Project using some form of
the Linux Terminal Server Project and/or the NoMachine NX software. We
have a variety of hardware to experiment with, including at least one
type of Winclient as well as tons of older hardware that is still
perfect for a thin client setup.

So be there, or be... somewhere else. You have to be somewhere, after
all. And bring a friend!

See you Thursday!
