So Macs are all on Intel.  And exactly as I expected, VMWare came with them:

"At the same time, VMware, a company in Palo Alto, Calif., announced a
product that allows users to run multiple operating systems simultaneously
on an Intel-based Macintosh computer."

This will be a huge benefit to get more people using Macs (and thus unix):
 the last vestige of M$ lock-in is gone.  It also can't be long until you
can run OSX in a VM under Linux.  :^)
