This is from the luni list -- so I'm sure many of you got it, but I
think that we should try to make this happen if possible. Larry/Nate,
what's the potential that you guys could get space through DePaul for
this?
Orion, what about you and UoC? Is that a possibility? I don't know
what the timeframe is on this, either.
UFO is not a North Park supported organization and we dont' really
have an ACM chapter or anything like that, so I don't think we could
do it here... people on LUNI are talking about maybe trying to do it
at the installfest at COD.

I don't know how many of you get the RedHat Under the Brim newsletter,
or how many of you care about RedHat ;), but there's a little contest
for LUGS/Unis to get them to stop their new roadshow in various
locations, and I thought perhaps we could make them stop here in Chicago
for our loosely banded group of LUGs :), if anything to try and get some
Free Stuff.
Here's the announcement:
*snip*
UNDER THE BRIM CONTEST 36: MAKE IT STOP
Led Zeppelin did it. So did Dylan. Rolling Stones still do it and
probably should have quit before Keith Richards started looking like
that. Now it's our turn. Red Hat is taking the show on the road. Just
imagine:
Hardcore Red Hat engineers
+ Large recreational vehicle
+ Covenience-store diet of non-perishable cheese and pork products
+ Infrequent personal hygiene resources
---------------------
= Hello Cleveland! Rock and Roll!!
Now, UTB Contest 36: We're looking for LUGs (Linux User Groups) or
schools (universities preferred) to be featured stops on our tour. We'll
bring with us computers running the latest Red Hat technology, goodies
bearing our logo, and a nothing's-gonna-stop-us-now mentality honed from
forced viewings of all 11 seasons of MTV's Road Rules.
To enter, compose an email telling us where you are and why we should
stop there, and then send it immediately to: feedback@redhat.com
Subject line: MAKE IT STOP
Prize: Of course, *first* prize is the Red Hat bus stopping at your LUG
or school. But for this contest (and in case the most compelling entry
is logistically impossible for us to reach by bus) second prize is a
virtual visit, where we'll send you a care package that includes Red Hat
t-shirts, CDs, caps, and other collectibles. All UTB readers worldwide
are eligible and welcome to enter. But our bus isn't a boat.
*snip*
So, If anyone can come up with some reasons for them to stop here, or
can come up with a suitable location, (as I cannot at the current moment
being 7:20AM and I will still be asleep untill noon-ish :), I'd like to
hear them. From there we could compile an entry and have them stop
here.
Just a thought.
mike
