Everyone,

Two protests are scheduled for Chicago, IL later this month. I encourage
everyone who is able to attend both protests to do so.

The first protest will be on Monday the 13th. It will be held in the
plaza across the street from 219 S. Dearborn (the same location as our
previous events) unless there are objections, and from 11:00 to 1:00 (the
same time as previous events) unless there are objections.

Pete and I talked yesterday about what sort of formation we should use for
this protest. Previous events have essentially been scattered leafletters
with signs. The advantage is that we can cover more area, but the
disadvantage is that people may only see one or two protesters and not
understand that there is a sizable group at work. Pete's suggestion was
that some of us continue to do that, but that a subset of the group also
picket in some sort of formation. I'll leave that open to debate, but I
personally like Pete's idea.

The second protest will be held on Thursday the 30th. This could
potentially be our fourth event at the same location, so I will leave the
subject of venue and also the time open for debate.

Tentatively, we will be protesting the same issues, but as before, that is
open to debate.

I would like to have the details that I've left open for debate finalized
by next Friday so that we have the weekend to prepare signs, leaflettes
and such without any confusion about exactly what is going on. Also,
please do not respond to this announcement, I will start the other threads
promptly.

In addition to the protests, a few of us are planning to distribute
literature on Sunday outside the American Bar Association
Conference.
