We passed the number infected in last month's outbreak
at about 1100 PM CDT last night.  The worm continues
to infect susceptible hosts...if you take your server
or W2K/Win NT 4 Workstation or server offline, patch
it, and restore it to the net, you're safe.

This worm variant has been corrected and will spread
faster, find more hosts and cause more damage.  It is
remote controlled.  If you run ANY version of W2K or
NT 4, get the patch, take your box offline, PATCH THE
SUCKER, reboot your box...it takes 5 minutes, without
problems.  Don't listen to the media, thay are not
reporting the whole story.  The worm affects Cisco
600-series routers (embedded NT/IIS) and some variants
of Apache/Zeus on NT and *nix (if they are using
certain DCOM+/ISAPI libraries or ASP/Frontpage
compatibility libraries) because it is NOT an
IIS/Windows worm, it is an ISAPI worm.

We've just seen the first substantiated instances of
Java class worms this week (listed on the
incidents.org site) and SirCAM is still on the prowl.

Code Red is just the start.  Life on the internet is
becoming VERY interesting.
